Day To Remember

Here’s to Soldiers from File to General,
Fighting at our behest.
The ones who stand this day’s parades,
And those who lay at rest.

They battle so you can live and breathe
Your peace bought with their pain.
So you live on each day; perhaps
Ideals work to attain.

Remembering is an easy thing—
Once you recollect
That, for the duty they fulfilled,
You owe returned respect.
