ILLUSION
-
This is harmful on so many levels, but that’s from our side. From theirs, it’s merely personal. To me they seem desperate. At the end, one’s contribution to existence is all that matters--good or bad. Today, it’s your sons you name Paul…and your dogs, Nero.
Barbra lectures “you don’t get it.”
Baldwin’s jet still warming? Let it.
On her guard good Rosie hides a pistol.
Sheen is sinking in the West while
Shouting “moron” (he’d know best), while
Reiner rants from so far left he’s distal.
Meryl poisoned farms of apples,
Courage, nightless Maher grapples,
Sarandon undermines our common de’fense.
For these, and other rich and famous
Samples of The Ignoramus,
Hanoi Jane’s the doyenne; without pretense.
If your mirror were global wide
Still, you felt lone and terrified,
Pontificating hard to find inclusion.
Were you a big attention craver
Not above abusing favor,
Widescreen ego’s good; but still illusion.
