Considering that long and inflammatory emails can instantly reach millions of faithful, that travel really is cheap & easy, the weather everywhere was comparatively benign, and cabin fever is approaching its seasonal height—the street response was pathetic.
Left it Be (with apologies to Sir Paul)
When I find myself in crowds of trouble
Makers who are marching free
Shrieking words of hatred, left it be.
And in their mindless darkness
Thugs are standing right in front of me
Ignoring words of wisdom, left it be.
Left it be, left it be.
Ignoring words of wisdom, left it be.
Whenever anti-war signs crowd the
Boulevard, surrounding me
There you will find A.N.S.W.E.R., left it be.
For though our aims are parted there is
Solidarity you see
There you will find A.N.S.W.E.R., left it be.
Left it be, left it be. Yeah
There you will find A.N.S.W.E.R., left it be.
And though the night is rowdy,
There are armed forces protecting me,
Yes, even me the lefty, left it be.
I wake up to the sound of screaming
Noam Chomsky comes to me
With no words of wisdom, left it be.
Left it be, left it be.
And there you will find A.N.S.W.E.R., left it be.
Left it be, left it be.
With no words of wisdom, left it be.
