Hyperbole thy name is Robbins. Members of the National Press Club were entertained. . .but were they amused.

If Only…

The chilling winds are blowing,
With the end of freedom showing—
The voices of the masses all but stilled.
For dissension within hearing
There are people disappearing—
Or racked apart, electrified or grilled.

With due-process in the shitter,
Former unified are bitter—
And hatred from the world has grown insane.
Bush has ordered ninety freighters
Just to haul off all the traitors—
You'd think that Civil War is nigh again.

Get a champion, nay, a Savior!
Someone bigger, badder, braver—
To lead us on to fight oppression's fog.
One with guts to fight repression
And light talent for impression—
If only Timmy Robbins had a Blog.

There are millions out here waiting,
No one talking or debating—
We're hunkered down and cringing like a dog.
Trodden comment in the nation
Needs a spark for conflagration—
If only Timmy Robbins had a Blog.

There is so much he could teach us
If he had a way to reach us—
Us helots here, hell, all the hoi polloi.
To learn First Amendment meaning
'Bout which he and Sue are keening—
I'd click him in a minute, with great joy!

It would not be all instruction
He could learn, or cause a ruction—
To make a point one needn’t be a hog.
An argument refuted
Doesn't mean your rights are booted—
(We’d see a lot of that on Timmy's Blog).

If you wonder how he's knowing
That the end of freedom's showing—
Why, everyone he knows is saying so!
Would he bust a blogger chorus
For a suit by William Morris—
Oppression? That depends now, don't ya know.

How post 9/11 unity
Gives weaponized immunity
I really couldn't say, I'm just a cog.
Is he merely wishf'lly thinking?
To the answers we'd be linking—
If only Timmy Robbins had a Blog.

   Envoy

Say Tim, here's free speech action
With no pressure group or faction—
No force to make you post just what you should.
Er. . . there's some whose disapproval
Threaten bloggers with 'removal'
(Now in dungeons but, hey, far from Hollywood).

So, what about it Robbins
Do just newsies hear your sobbin'—
Is all this talk to pull each other's log?
The hits would be attractive
And, of course, with Comments active—
I dare ya, Timmy Robbins. Get a Blog.
